She earned her real estate license in 1997 and worked as an agent while continuing her full time employment. She is active in her community and is a member of the Volunteer Fireman's Association-Pasadena Ladies Auxiliary. She has served on the City of Pasadena, Community Development Advisory Board and Advocate Board member of the Queens Neighborhood Association. She is a former member of the Albemarle Agitators Cook-off team and Past President of the PHS Touchdown Club.
